These type of chargers are rated at 100Kw upwards and can re-charge an EV battery in around 20 mminutes and are typically found in motorway service stations and similar environments where the fastest possible charge time is required, connectors for this type of charger are usually (CSS) Combined Charging System and can handle upto 350Kw of DC, there are two plug formats for this type of charger with varying amounts of connectors dependant on which car manufacturer and how old the vehicle is.

These type of charge connectors are CHAdeMO and are rated at 50Kw DC and are prefferred by most Japanese and Korean car manufacturers such as Mitsubishi and NIssan.
